Overview

INDICATIONS

Angiodroid The CO2 Injector is a patented device on the international market which allows injections of medical CO₂ into blood vessels with a precise volume and at given pressure, and above all without air contamination. Acting as a perfectly biocompatible contrast agent, Carbon Dioxide guarantees both a high quality of radiological images and patient safety while performing an angiographic exam.

Angiodroid The CO2 Injector: Where? When? Why? How?

The Injector has three main application fields:

  • Interventional Radiology
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Interventional Cardiology

CO₂ Injection can be performed in the following body districts:

  • Abdominal Aorta
  • Lower Limbs
  • Diabetic Foot
  • Hemodialysis Fistula
  • Renal Arteries
  • Pelvic Arteries
  • Hepatic Arteries
  • Peripheral Venous System

Given as a fact that CO₂ is a safe and efficient option in almost all of the aforementioned cases, the use of Angiodroid is indicated for all the patients undergoing a peripheral angiography, especially for diabetic patients and absolutely needed for patients allergic to iodine or suffering from renal conditions, which could be worsened by iodinated contrast, causing Contrast-Induced Nephropathy.

The Injector is completely automatic, the operator simply has to connect the catheter with the injection line (provided together with the product) and choose among the pre-set parameters studied for each district to analyze (customizable according to the situation if needed).

Product Details

The injection can be performed both through the touchscreen panel and the wireless remote control provided with the Injector: in the second case, the operator can also be in the other room (at a maximum distance of 15 meters) during the angiography, avoiding a great deal of x-ray exposure.

Arc-synchronization is also possible thanks to the cable provided by Angiodroid, compatible with Philips and Ziehm Angiosystems.

What guarantees the best performance possible is the built-in pressure sensor constantly monitoring the injector.

Performance and Safety Data Sheet

Safety

CO₂ is an odorless, colorless and invisible gas, and for this reason it is important not to let it mix with ambient air during the injection, as to avoid embolism. The Injector ensures the use of just “pure” medical CO₂ thanks to the one-way valve at the end of the injection line (and to the automatic washing of the catheter performed as soon as it is connected to the device).

Rapidity

Thanks to Angiodroid, the injection is fast and easy: after having set the parameters, the system will automatically load the desired dose to use and the external LEDs will signal the state of the Injector as to know when to start the procedure.

Simplicity

Easiness of use starts from the ergonomic design of the device, which is easily movable from one room to another thanks to its four wheels (and relative brakes).

Moreover, while using the Injector, the operator not only can choose pre-set dedicated parameters, but also save its customized values and set the automatic repetition of the Injection, which will take just 30 seconds thanks to the Fast Automatic Reload function.

The Injector is indeed almost completely operator independent, due to its automatic procedures: the user will just have to turn the device on, connect the catheter and start the injection with the desired parameters.

Software

Angiodroid The CO2 Injector presents a software running in Windows  environment, extremely user-friendly: when the operators switch on the device, the first thing they see on the screen is a window of buttons and text boxes that guide them in the use. It is possible to use pre-set parameters studied for the different analyzable districts and, when it is needed, to customize the volume and pressure values (within the safety range studied for the patient) directly on the panel or using the knows below the screen.

Accessories

The device, apart from the remote control, is provided with disposable accessories which ensures its correct use.

  • Single Use Adaptor to connect Angiodroid The CO2 Injector with the catheter
  • Angiodroid Procedural Kit, used both to connect the device with the catheter and to protect the Injector’s surfaces.
